Healthcare

After 26 years as an emergency and trauma nurse, I’ve seen what happens when people can’t afford the care they need. I’ve held the hands of seniors rationing prescriptions. I’ve watched families choose between medication and groceries. I’ve seen the real-life consequences when our healthcare system fails.

That’s why I’m running for State Senate.

Healthcare should be a right, not a luxury. I’ll fight to protect Medicaid, lower prescription drug costs and hold pharmaceutical companies accountable so families in the 32nd District can afford the care that keeps them healthy and alive.

I also know how critical it is to have care close to home. I’ve watched patients drive dangerous distances during medical emergencies because their community didn’t have nearby services. Communities like Antioch and Lake Villa deserve access to 24/7 emergency medicine. I’ll work to bring critical emergency care to every corner of our district and fight to keep community hospitals open and accessible, especially for seniors who depend on them most.
